Commonwealth Project Officer in London
We have an excellent opportunity for a Project Officer, Sport for Development and Peace (SDP) to join our Economic Youth and Sustainable Development Directorate.
The Project Officer, Sport for Development and Peace is responsible for coordinating Commonwealth sport-related projects, encompassing technical assistance projects, capacity building and policy analysis and research. The Project Officer will also provide support and advice on the development of national policy and strategies to enhance and protect the contribution of sport to sustainable development in Commonwealth member countries, support the head of SDP in building and maintaining relationships with identified ministries, key international organisations, sector stakeholders and programme partners.
To be considered, you will need to have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as sport, public administration, youth development or international development. You will need to have sound and demonstrated knowledge of, and professional experience of sport and development policy. 5+ years’ experience in managing sport and/or sport development policy formulation and implementation. 5+ years’ experience in working in/with government, intergovernmental or international NGO organisations. 5+ years’ experience managing projects involving multiple partners including governmental agencies or inter-governmental bodies.
