Coaching Life Champions: Score against Violence and Crime

To explore the contribution of sport in building safe, just and peaceful societies, UNODC and IOC will organize a series of webinars in cooperation with state and non-state actors from sectors including sport, youth, justice, academia and civil society. The webinars will be held under the initiative “Sport against Crime: Outreach, Resilience, Empowerment of at-risk youth” (SC:ORE).

Objectives
- To share knowledge and promising practices on sport as a tool for youth violence and crime prevention.
- To advance the integration of sport in youth crime prevention strategies.
- To promote multisectoral approaches to evidence-based prevention through sport and enhance sport sector engagement.
- To enhance cooperation and joint action among relevant actors.
The webinars will explore sport’s role in various thematic areas and aim to share good practices globally. They will build on the UNODC/IOC publication “Preventing youth crime and violence through sport: a policy guide,” while also investigating emerging areas like urban sport and e-sport for youth engagement and resilience. The goal is to create an informal network of experts and practitioners as a foundation for a future community of practice.
Language
The working language for the webinars will be English, but interpretation will be provided in Arabic, Spanish, and French to facilitate global access across regions.
