Streets for Life: Unlocking the multiple benefits of safe walking and cycling

We’re pleased to invite you to our global webinar: Streets for Life: Unlocking the multiple benefits of safe walking and cycling, celebrating the 8th UN Global Road Safety Week 2025 and the launch of WHO’s new policy guidance: Promoting walking and cycling: a toolkit of policy options.
When: Monday 12 May 2025 | 13:00–14:30 CEST
Where: Zoom – Register here
This new WHO guidance and toolkit outlines evidence-based policy actions to promote safe, inclusive, and accessible environments for more safe walking and cycling. It offers a practical roadmap across sectors—from transport to health to environment—with seven key policy action areas and real-world case studies. The webinar will feature:
- Presentation introducing the toolkit Promoting walking and cycling: a toolkit of policy options and the case for walking and cycling as forces for health, sustainable transport, road safety, equity, and climate resilience
- Panel discussion sharing insights from global experts, including Global Road Safety partners, the Partnership for Active Transport and Health (PATH), and the FIA Foundation, amongst others
- City case studies showcasing how better infrastructure and smart policy can unlock co-benefits across health, mobility, environment, and econom
- Chaired by Dr Etienne Krug, Director, Department for Social Determinants and Heath, WHO and Chair of the International Road Safety Collaboration
We’d be pleased to have your support and contribution to the discussion. Let’s reimagine streets—not just as roads, but as places for life. Please share with your colleagues and networks.
