Tenth International Conference on Sport & Society

The Sport & Society Research Network is an international journal that is centred around cultural, political, and economic relationships of sport to society. This year’s conference will have a special focus on sports media vectors.

The 10th annual conference hosted by the Sport & Society Research Network in Toronto, Canada will feature research addressing the following annual themes:

Sporting cultures and identities
Sport and health
Sports education
Sports management and commercialisation

In addition, this year’s special focus will be on sports media vectors: digitisation, expanding audiences, and the globalisation of live sport.

We invite proposals for paper presentations, workshops/interactive sessions, posters/exhibits, virtual lightning talks, virtual posters, or colloquia addressing one of the themes.

Proposal submission and registration deadline: 20 May 2019

The conference will include opportunity to attend a pre-conference reception and panel discussion, a Blue Jays baseball game, and the 2019 Toronto Pride Festival.
