Yoga and Sport for Refugees: Swim For Good 2024
Members of Yoga and Sport with Refugees (YSR) and The Yusra Mardini Foundation (YMF) will swim 12km in solidarity with displaced people.
Why 12km?
The 12km measurement represents the same distance that more than 10 000 people take yearly from Turkey to Lesvos Island in Greece, crossing the Aegean Sea in search for a better life and safety.
By swimming 12km, YSR aims to raise awareness about the dangerous journey, highlight the resilience of displaced people and stand in solidarity with those who have lost their lives in search for a better future. We advocate for safe passageways for displaced people and a humane reception of migrants in Europe.
How do I join?
Visit the YSR homepage to learn more and register as a swimmer for the event on 29 June 2024. Jump into the water with us, and swim the 12km in your location in order to raise awareness. Let's create waves for humanity and grow #StrongerTogether !
