Youth Empowerment in Sport for Development

The course Youth Empowerment in S4D is particularly designed for S4D practitioners, who already have S4D experience.

It will give you a comprehensive introduction into concepts and tools that can be used to empower young people in becoming agents of social change. In a first step the participants will gain a deeper understanding of the conceptual frameworks that are forming the base for youth empowerment strategies on different levels from local to global. In the second part of the workshop we will look at hands-on tools that can be used to support young people in critically reflecting about social challenges in their living environment. During the third part we will look at the process of initiative development, going through the necessary steps that can help young people to develop their own first social initiative on a community level.

The course is crafted with an interactive approach, featuring practical exercises and breakout sessions, to facilitate the understanding of this complex topic. Active participation in group discussions and exercises is a requirement for a fulfilling learning experience.
