About us

Budapest Association for International Sports (BAIS) is a growing NGO promoting participation in sports and physical activity, and sport-based non-formal education. We believe sport is the ultimate platform to foster mutual understanding, to create friendships and to bring people together regardless of their backgrounds. BAIS organises frequent accessible leisure sport events and runs Education Through Sport (ETS) based youth development activities. We engage in international youth and sport policy cooperation, mostly funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. 

Role description

Our Budapest-based NGO is looking to fill an exciting role for a motivated individual with a creative soul to manage our external communication activities - with a focus on social media content creation. It’s a flexible, part-time position including the management of our websites (wemovebudapest.com & budapesthikers.com), social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and taking on occasional email communication with internal and external parties

Responsibilities (what you would be doing)

  • Leading our NGO’s external communication activities
  • Handling social media channels (e.g. creating content & scheduling posts) and dealing with inquiries
  • Keeping our websites up to date
  • Supporting our international projects (ensuring appropriate online visibility) 
  • Working in collaboration with the BAIS board, operations manager and project managers, sometimes to tight deadlines

Requirements (must haves)

  • Proficient in English
  • Residence: Hungary 
  • Experience in social media management (content creation, insights, scheduling ads)
  • Experience in online community management (we have Facebook groups with 3k+ members)
  • Passion for creative tools (Canva, Adobe Photography, Later, others)
  • Ability to create short clips / reels for social media channels
  • Willingness to attend BAIS events in person 
  • To be a team player when needed
  • ​​Being an independent, proactive person who is able to work from home (i.e. remotely)

Advantages (nice to have)

  • Previous experience in NGOs, sport or the nonprofit sector
  • Happy to go the extra mile to create quality creatives 
  • Curiosity to try out new social media tools and monitor current trends
  • Experience with website content management (Wix / Wordpress) 
  • Proficiency in Hungarian 
  • Bachelor’s/Undergraduate degree (preferably Communications/Marketing)
  • Self-entrepreneur, small taxpayer status
  • Personal interest in sports and empathy with our mission
