Kids Play International seeks a Program Manager-Training Specialist

About: Kids Play International is seeking an experienced sport for development Program Manager-Training Specialist to help empower and build overall staff/coach capacity, ensure grant activity implementation, and deliver ongoing high-quality programs and evaluation. The PM will help to improve the processes, competencies and knowledge of our coaches and staff to collect coach observations, write grant reports, administer M&E tools, and improve overall daily processes/procedures. Ideally, this is a person with prior train-the-trainer experience in the Sport for Development sector and can quickly grasp our program intervention and our standardized curriculum to achieve our outcomes. The PM must have a strong English speaking and writing skills, and a high level of understanding how sport can build personal development skills within sport activities and lead discussions on how this translates to everyday life. Additionally, prior experience on proper procedures on how to collect, input and analyze data to evaluate and inform our coach training, program and mission. Must have excellent organizational, communication and facilitator skills. PM- Training Specialist will report to Country Program Manager and US Global Program Manager.

SCOPE OF WORK & DESIRED OUTCOMES
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Training of Trainer
- Build capacity of Program Coordinators (PCs) and Master Coaches (MCs) to lead effective training and coach other coaches, aligning with KPI's Program Guidebook, training modules, and standardized curriculum
- Develop the PC's capacity to execute all roles and responsibilities of the Let’s Play Fair (LPF) program, including training, observation/evaluation, report writing, and data collection.
- Enhance the capacity of KPI Program Coordinators and Master Coaches to create a clear training program for new LPF coaches.
- Emphasize the LPF program's training standards, which should be mirrored in all KPI programs.

Program Training and Management
- Conduct, model, lead, deliver, oversee, and evaluate weekly coach training and training of trainers for our year-round Let’s Play Fair and Play Fair Community programs, adhering to our existing intervention and curriculum framework.
- Utilize pre-designed Training Modules to provide ongoing curriculum training to KPI’s Program Coordinators, Master Coaches, coaches, and staff.
- Assess and conduct training sessions aimed at enhancing program technical and structural delivery as well as evaluation performance.
- Support and transition coaching staff in conducting weekly LPF and Community Day program sessions.

Program Management and Team Development
- Supervise, analyze, and provide leadership across all primary programs and secondary programs
- Ensure the development and implementation of high-quality gender equity, sports-based youth development program curricula that is in line with the mission, vision, and strategy of the organization.
- Provide continuous capacity-building and training of the local staff and coaches
- Setting and overseeing Professional Development/Coach and Staff Training priorities each quarter and incorporating them into annual plans
- Build and increase in-country ownership in alignment with Strategy.
- Assist in conducting performance management evaluations for all local program staff
- Ensure that personnel files for all KPI team members are properly maintained and kept confidential
- Work with the Country Manager to ensure the Safeguarding Policies and Procedures are current and updated regularly.
- Support the Country Manager in leading quarterly safeguarding training sessions to all staff.

Monitoring & Evaluation
- Attend weekly programs and oversee Head/Coaches/Staff to complete observation forms and weekly reports
- Oversee and assist in collecting and organizing program attendance, school attendance, school grades, exam scores on a regular basis.
- Train staff how to maintain and update excel databases with all monitoring and evaluation information.
- Train staff on how to properly conduct surveys, observations and focus group discussions as they pertain to monitoring and evaluation of activities outlined in grants.
- Oversee writing weekly/quarterly reports and assist with external grant reports pertaining to the specific grant deliverables outlined for the LPF program.
- Help conduct and evaluate activities as outlined in grants KPI has received.
- Assist with program observations and report writing.

Professional Development
- Build capacity of Country Manager, PC/MC to write weekly and quarterly reports reports.
- Build capacity around Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and/or G-Suite Programs including Docs, Sheets, Slides.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications/competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 2 years working experience at an international level with humanitarian NGOs or operational UN agencies OR 2 years of field experience in challenging environments
- Proven experience in coach training, training the trainer project management, budget expenditure, data collection, report writing, and staff management
- Preferable experience and strong interest in the areas of sport for development, gender equity, women’s empowerment, and public health
- Ability to empower, mentor and train local staff
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- High degree of computer literacy
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Political and cultural sensitivity, including the ability to adapt well to local cultures
- Proven ability to function well in a lower-resourced environment
- Strong liaison and communication skills
- Innovative and creative thinking
- Strong analytical and reporting skills

COMPENSATION:
- Dependent on experience. Approximate range: $1300-$2000/month
- KPI related expenses; internet, phone, transportation.
- Housing in KPI Guesthouse
- Visa expenses
- 1 RT flight depending on completion of contract
