In Madrid, we comprise of two organisations which can be understood as:
Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) was created by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 2001 in order to serve as the Host Broadcasting organisation for all Olympic Games, Olympic Winter Games and Youth Olympic Games. The Host Broadcaster is responsible for delivering the pictures and sounds of the Olympic Games to billions of viewers around the world.
What is OMIP?
The Olympic Media Innovators Programme (OMIP) is an inspiring 12-week online learning experience running from June to August 2025, concluding with a two-week in-person immersion in September 2025 at the OCS/OBS headquarters in Madrid, Spain. Tailored for young women aged 18-21 passionate about sports, media, and technology, OMIP bridges the gap between learning and practice by offering participants a deep dive into media production, technology, and broadcasting.
Through weekly presentations by department leaders, one-on-one mentoring, and real-world assignments, OMIP participants will explore core fields such as Games services, editorial, digital data & analytics, broadcast engineering, and content production. Interns will develop practical skills, build networks, and gain insights into the evolving media landscape, ultimately becoming better equipped to lead in sports media production.
Skills, Requirements & Qualifications
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with digital platforms, including video conferencing and content management tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for diversity in media and sports.
- Availability for full-time participation during the programme.
