Fundraising and marketing internships are now available with an organisation that promotes mindfulness to improve the sport participation experience.

The True Athlete Project was established in 2015 to promote the benefits of sport as a transformative force for good in the life of an individual, and for society at large. While the organisation recognises the immense power of sport, they are also acutely aware of the problems that surround sport. Sport can be unhealthy, even harmful. Think discrimination, cheating, bullying, performance anxiety, depression and burnout - just for starters. As a result, many never realise the beauty in becoming a "true" athlete.

The True Athlete Project hope to remedy this paradox with an innovative, mind/body/spirit approach to sport. The programmes combine tai-chi, art, meditation, mindfulness, sport psychology and more, to enhance the experience of an athlete, improve performance and transform the culture of sport for good.

Opportunity 1 – Fundraising officer

The True Athlete Project, a registered non-profit sports organisation, seeks a motivated and creative fundraising officer.

This is an unpaid, six-month internship that can be performed remotely and may lead to further in-house opportunities.

The successful applicant will be sympathetic to the mission of the True Athlete Project, have impeccable people skills, and possess excellent written English.

Duties may include but are not limited to: locating grant opportunities and co-writing grant applications, developing donor support, creating a long-term fundraising strategy.
