Training Glimpse!
40 youth trained as PE teachers over 3 days in Kanker, Chhattisgarh, India — building skills, leadership and inclusive sports education.

In June 2026, Sportathon Foundation organized a 3-day immersive residential training programme in Kanker, Chhattisgarh, India — bringing together 40 young people and transforming them into trained Physical Education teachers ready to lead change in their schools and communities.

The training covered a comprehensive set of skills and competencies, including sports-based pedagogy, lesson plan execution, play-based learning, life skills integration, gender empowerment, inclusivity and leadership development. Each session was designed to be hands-on, reflective and deeply rooted in the real challenges PE teachers face on the ground.

A highlight of the programme was our collaboration with Coaches Across Continents — our training partner — who supported the integration of purposeful play into the curriculum, bringing a global perspective to local impact.

By the end of the three days, participants had not just gained skills — they had built confidence, community and a shared belief that sport can be a powerful tool for social change. These 40 youth are now returning to their schools as trained educators, ready to deliver structured, inclusive and life-skills-integrated sports sessions to children across India.
