David Thibodeau speaks to Nicole Matuska about how the WomenWin's GRLS programme is empowering women and girls around the world.

Nicole Matuska is currently the U.S. Director at Women Win, a global non-profit leader in gender equity through sport. In this role, she has travelled to over 30 countries on three continents leading trainings and providing strategic consulting to organizational staff and coaches of sport for social change organizations advancing the rights of girls and women. Her love for sport and and its power to transform lives was solidified during her Fulbright research in Morocco in 2007. GRLS flies the flag for girls’ and young women’s empowerment by actualising their collective strength through sport. A flag planted in the ground standing for all girls around the globe who deserve more from the world than they were given.

WomenWin is a global multi-dimensional fund investing in and supporting a diverse global portfolio of re-grantees (including non-traditional actors). They Influence a wide range of stakeholders and broker unusual partnerships by creating strategic alliances with other women’s funds, and co-creating collective funds based on shared governance.
