Generation Amazing Foundation launches fourth annual Youth Festival

This year’s Festival is part of a GA’s yearlong school exchange programme called Goal 22, which brings together over 300 students from countries around the world to teach them Football for Development practices with a focus on the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
In attendance were H.E. Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation; H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani, Managing Director of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy; H.E. Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy; Gianni Infantino, FIFA President; Mansoor Al Ansari, General Secretary of the Qatar Football Association; HE Sheikh Dr Abdulla bin Ali bin Saoud Al-Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Qatar Media City; Sheikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Chairman & Managing Director of Qetaifan Projects; Mushtaq Al-Waeli, Senior Advisor to the Secretary General at Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, and board member of the Generation Amazing Foundation; Nasser Al Khori, Executive Director of the Generation Amazing Foundation; among a delegation of ministers and ambassadors.
Remarks were given by HE Hassan Al Thawadi, in which he announced Generation Amazing officially transitioning into a Foundation, following its milestone achievement of impacting 1 million lives around the world.
Additional remarks were made by Gianni Infantino, FIFA President, as well as GA ED Nasser Al Khori.
The event was emceed by Folly Bah Thibault, Journalist and Principal Presenter for Al Jazeera English, with the keynote speech given by Malek Jandeli, Pianist, Founder of Pianos for Peace, and Honorary Composer in residence with Qatar Museums; and showcased a surprise dance performance by the Triplet Ghetto Kids.
Goal 22 strategic partners are Ministry of Sports and Youth, Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar Football Association, Qatar Foundation (QF), Qatar Museums, FIFA Foundation and UNESCO. Sponsors include Qatar Airways, Visit Qatar, Qatar Fund for Development, Qetaifan Projects, QLM Insurance, SDIsports and Hublot.

The Foundation operates in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, promoting inclusion and gender equality in its football for development programme. The programme's unique methodology teaches life skills, including communication, leadership, teamwork and organisation. It has built more than 30 football pitches in under-privileged communities, with those facilities now being turned into community clubs.
