Generations For Peace, in partnership with Jordan's Education Ministry and the Jordan School Sport Federation, launched 20 summer sport camps for public school students across the Kingdom for the second consecutive year.

The sport camps started on 1 August and will end on 12 August. These camps offer a safe and fun space for 2,000 students of different nationalities to learn and interact, and promote trust, inclusion, and belonging through basketball, volleyball, and other sport-based activities.

These camps are part of the Riadati Programme, a new three-year partnership between Generations For Peace and the Olympic Refuge Foundation.

Through this partnership, Generations For Peace will implement sport for protection-based activities designed to enhance the mental health and psychosocial well-being of youth affected by displacement across Jordan.

Generations For Peace president, Dr Mohanned Arabiat said the 2022 camps had a remarkably positive impact on the teachers who acquired new skills for using Sport For Protection professionally, as well as on students affected by displacement who found, through these camps, a way to overcome barriers of fear, expression, and inclusion.

“We value our renewed partnership with the Olympic Refuge Foundation, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact from the 2023 camps will have on a new group of students,” Arabiat added.
