1st Edition of Lalbagh Sports Carnival
A heartfelt thank You to Get Psyched Sports for supporting Lalbagh Sports Carnival 2025.

At Sports and Development, we believe in the power of sports to transform lives, foster unity, and promote positive values. We are delighted to extend our deepest gratitude to Mitch Lyons and his organization, Get Psyched Sports, for their generous contribution to the Lalbagh Sports Carnival 2025.

This event, organized by the Lions Club of Dhaka Lalbagh, is set to be a monumental occasion, bringing together over 35 Leo Club members, 110 Lions Club members, and more than 50 schools from across the region. Featuring a diverse range of sports—from cricket and football to traditional cock fighting and badminton—the carnival aims to celebrate athletic talent, build community spirit, and provide a platform for youth to excel.

Mitch Lyons, a retired lawyer with a rich history in coaching basketball for youth, high school, and college teams, has long been an advocate for social emotional learning (SEL). As the founder of GetPsychedSports.org and the Social Emotional Learning Alliance for Massachusetts, Mitch has worked tirelessly to integrate SEL principles into sports, ensuring that young athletes not only grow in skill but also in emotional resilience, empathy, and teamwork. His commitment to helping young people develop both as athletes and individuals is something we hold in high regard.

Mitch’s pledge of $2,300 towards the Lalbagh Sports Carnival is an extraordinary gesture, one that demonstrates his deep belief in the value of youth sports and emotional learning. This donation will go a long way in supporting the event, but it is just one part of the larger funding goal of over $15,000 needed to bring the carnival to life. While Mitch's generosity has already made a significant impact, the organizers are still seeking support from others who share the vision of empowering youth and promoting sports as a tool for social development.

We encourage other individuals, organizations, and community leaders to consider joining Mitch in supporting this initiative. Whether through donations, sponsorships, or volunteering time and resources, every contribution—big or small—will play a crucial role in making this event a success and helping create a lasting impact on the youth and communities involved.

On behalf of the Lalbagh Sports Carnival 2025 organizers and the broader sports community, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mitch Lyons and GetPsychedSports.org for their invaluable support. Your efforts not only help bring sports back into the lives of many young people but also promote a deeper understanding of how sports can nurture essential life skills.

Together, we can continue to build a world where sports serve as a powerful force for good, bridging gaps, fostering inclusivity, and shaping the leaders of tomorrow.

Sports and Development will continue to advocate for the role of sports in societal progress, and we are proud to partner with organizations like Mitch’s to make meaningful changes in the world. Let’s all come together to support the Lalbagh Sports Carnival and make it an event that will be remembered for years to come.
