Grants for local bodies in Midlands, South West England and South Wales

The Active Communities fund will provide £500,000 to help charitable organisations to empower their local communities to get active, stay fit, and deliver meaningful social change through exercise and sport.

The Active Communities fund aims to bring about positive change in economically disadvantaged areas and to target grassroots organisations that serve historically underrepresented and marginalised groups. Successful projects will need to meet one of the following themes:

• Working with marginalised or vulnerable groups.
• Positive life pathways for young people.
• Addressing mental health issues.
• Bringing diverse communities together.
• Improving physical health conditions.

The programme will accept applications until 28 July 2023.

Organisations that complete applications will be informed of the outcome by the end of August 2023.

Projects must be delivered and funding spent by 31 December 2023.
