The ITTF Foundation is thrilled and proud to release its 2023 Annual Report! This comprehensive document highlights a fruitful year of remarkable achievements in harnessing the power of table tennis for positive social change. With the yearly focus on sustainability, the report encapsulates our global efforts. For us, sustainability extends beyond environmental stewardship; it also encompasses the human and economic dimensions of long-term well-being. Through community-driven projects, worldwide celebrations, and health initiatives, we have aimed to create a more sustainable world in all three aspects—people, planet, and overall prosperity—through table tennis.

A Year of Impact Across Our Programmes

Our 2023 Annual Report reflects many cheerful moments and impactful successes across our core programmes. Under the TT Dream Building programme, the Dream Building Fund projects continued to empower communities through the transformative power of table tennis, contributing to various UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The TT4ALL programme remains at the forefront of our mission to make table tennis accessible to everyone. In 2023, World Table Tennis Day, themed “Think Sustainably, Act Now!”, saw over 442 celebrations across 111 countries, territories, and Member Associations, addressing the environmental crisis and reinforcing our commitment to sustainability.

Our TT4Health programme gained significant momentum through the inaugural World Table Tennis for Health Festival in Crete, Greece. The festival included the third edition of the World Parkinson’s Table Tennis Championships, the first-ever World Alzheimer’s Table Tennis Championships, and the inaugural World Table Tennis for Health Congress.

Within the TT Legacy programme, we partnered with Parkinson’s ZA during the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals in Durban, selecting a local male and female player with Parkinson’s to participate in the 2023 World Parkinson’s Championships in Crete, Greece.

Regarding Ping Pong Diplomacy, we continued our #TableTennisUnited campaign by collecting and providing equipment from generous donors worldwide to children affected by the harsh war conditions in Ukraine.

As we reflect on the achievements of 2023, we are energised and inspired to continue our mission in 2024 and beyond, remaining steadfast in our commitment to using the power of table tennis to drive sustainable social change.
