Jordan's Olympians join Olympic Day celebrations
Organised by the Jordan Olympic Committee, the Day was held at Prince Hamza Hall in Al Hussein Youth City, with a large number of young and promising athletes from various Jordanian sports federations across different age groups mixing with the Olympians.
The athletes preparing for Paris were introduced with an interactive Q&A session, and joined in with the demonstrations that showcased a number of sports to promote Olympic Values.
JOC Secretary General, Rana Al-Saeed, emphasised the importance of celebrating Olympic Day annually due to its significant impact on athletes and the Olympic movement.
Al-Saeed stated: “We celebrate Olympic Day every year to reinforce the Olympic spirit and highlight the importance of engaging in sports activities while promoting the values of the Jordan Olympic Committee."
She added: “This year's Olympic Day comes just weeks before the start of the Olympic Games in Paris, making it a great opportunity to introduce Team Jordan and give attendees a chance to meet our champions who have successfully qualified for this major global sporting event."
Jordan will be represented at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games by Taekwondo athletes Juliana Al-Sadiq, Rama Abu Rub, Saleh El-Sharabaty, and Zaid Mustafa; boxers Hussein and Ziad Eishish, and Obada Al-Kasbeh; national gymnastics team member Ahmed Abu Al-Soud; national table tennis team player Zaid Abu Yemen; national swimming team members Amro Al-War and Karin Balbisi; and marathon runner Moath Al-Khawaldeh.
