Mifalot brings together over 100 Palestinian and Israeli children to play and socialise

The children arrived from the Israeli communities of Baraam and Metzer and the Palestinian community of Shufa. The session lasted for two hours and included one hour of joint social activities that focused on the theme, ‘getting to know the other side's language’, and one hour dedicated to a football tournament with Palestinian-Israeli mixed teams.
Osama, Participant from Shufa: "I was so excited to participate. It was nice to hear Israelis trying to speak Arabic. What was the most facinating thing for me? Scoring a goal, of course…".
Avi Meiri, Project Coordinator: "It is amazing to see how children and adults interact freely through the medium of football. Even learning each side's language was conducted through using football and football vocabulary".
The "Football our Common Ground" project is sponsored by the EU, and has contributed to Mifalot's yearly engagement with over 20,000 children from Israel, Palestine, and Jordan.
