New UEFA online course on child participation in safeguarding

As the new school year has recently started or is about to start in most countries in Europe, UEFA and Terre des hommes are delighted to invite you to take a brand new online course – Involving children in child safeguarding in football.
In this course you will learn what is meant by involving children in safeguarding efforts – referred to as ‘child participation’ – and specifically why it is important and how children can participate.
This course was developed starting from children’s right to freely express their views and participate in decisions that affect their lives (Art. 12 and 13 of the Convention in the Rights of the Child). Furthermore, children have a unique perspective on safeguarding. By taking into account their perspectives and priorities, safeguarding procedures can be significantly improved.
You can find out more about the benefits of child participation in the new course.
The course is free and currently available in four languages: English, French, German, and Russian. You will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.
This e-learning course is part of a series developed by UEFA in partnership with Terre des hommes to support efforts to safeguard children (under 18) in football and ensure they enjoy football as a safe and fun experience. You can access the other four courses here.
