Anantapur Sports Academy football coaches strive to improve grassroots football by periodically training their coaches to impart quality coaching skills, in order to develop the game.

With the onset of the new football season, the Rural Development Trust (RDT) called its mandal football coaches for a training programme, which included a total of 40 mandal football coaches from RDT’s 18 grassroots centres. The training program was jointly presided over by Anantapur Sports Academy (ASA) head coach, Miquel Llado and assistant coach, P Vijayabhaskar.

The highlights of the training were transmitting RDT’s core values to the grassroot programmes, and its participants, by training their young coaches. These values include communicating the importance of education, equal opportunities for every player, nurturing and supporting upcoming players and the development of players as self-confident and thoughtful individuals. The training stressed upon the importance of developing the overall personality of these players.

Head coach Miquel Llado said, “I hope to motivate our mandal coaches through this meeting to dedicate time towards developing the lives of their players, supporting them, instead of merely teaching them how to kick a ball, make a pass or score a goal”.
