Supporting the reduction of gender violence through sport and education.

How does your organisation work toward achieving the SDGs?

Connecting Clubs International recognises the connected nature of the SDGs. Our projects have an explicit focus on gender equality but this enables a number of other positive benefits. Through sport we are using female empowerment to drive progress for many of the SDGs.

Which specific goals do you target?

We targets SDG 5 explicitly through our work also touch SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities, SDG 3 Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4 Quality Education and SDG 17 Partnership for the Goals

What changes have you made to your work since the SDGs were introduced in January 2016?

Our project was very much born in the era of the SDGs. Having the framework that the SDGs provided has allowed us to not only focus our work on key areas but also draw out links that ensure that our work is driving better positive outcomes for the communities in which we work.

How is your organisation measuring progress?

We are striving to put metrics and data toward the SDGs that we are targeting. We believe that our project, supporting the reduction of gender violence through sport and education can have a transformational impact in the communities in which we work.

We are targeting the number of school children, coaches, partners and teachers that we work with through our project as an indicator of the spread of our messages.
