The project teaches life skills to children through the power of play.

How does your organisation work toward achieving the SDGs?

Project KHEL provides education of life skills to underprivileged children and adolescents through the 'power of play' as an interactive and fun medium. We use sports and outdoor activities as a method to achieve the goal of developing informed and empowered change agents through a structured life skills curriculum and also awareness sessions that address topics such as mental health, personal hygeine, peer pressure, gender sensitivity, sexual abuse, women empowerment etc.

Which specific goals do you target?

Goal 3-Health and well-being

  • Targeting topics such as personal hygiene, substance abuse, safe behaviour
  • Education on menstrual hygiene and preventive measures on youth sexual behaviour

Goal 4- Inclusive and quality education

  • Life skills education to underprivileged children of all ages by encouraging innovative activity-based learning

Goal 5- Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls

  • Targeting gender stereotypes and gender sensitivity and inequality by creating safe environments where both genders play together in the sporting activities

How is your organisation measuring progress?

Project KHEL uses:

  • Digital documentation of our beneficiaries' journey through our programmes
  • Case studies to obtain an indepth understanding of the programmes and their effectiveness
  • Anecdotal records for observations of students behaviour as a result of outcome of the programme
  • Written feedback as a reflective process to evaluate progress, effect as well as areas of improvement
  • Questionnaire based method to obtain and gather data
