The Budapest Association for International Sports (BAIS) works at the intersection of sport, youth, education, and social impact. Our mission is to make sport more accessible, meaningful, and community-driven, while using it as a vehicle for learning, inclusion, health promotion, and active participation.
Based in Budapest, BAIS organises a wide range of grassroots sport activities, community events, workshops, youth-focused programmes, and international collaborations. Our work brings together people from different backgrounds and nationalities, creating spaces where sport becomes more than physical activity — it becomes a platform for dialogue, empowerment, teamwork, and personal development.
We are actively involved in Erasmus+ and other international cooperation projects, especially those linked to sustainability, youth participation, sport innovation, volunteering, and education through sport. In recent years, BAIS has contributed to projects addressing topics such as green practices in sport, sustainable outdoor activities, community building through grassroots sport, and the role of sport in promoting social and educational values.
A key element of our approach is the combination of practical experience and international exchange. We believe that organisations working in different contexts can learn greatly from one another, and we are therefore increasingly committed to fostering cooperation between European and African actors in the field of Sport for Development and Peace. Through these partnerships, we aim to support mutual learning, share good practices, and co-create innovative responses to common social, educational, and environmental challenges.
BAIS also values the role of volunteers, youth workers, trainers, and community leaders in creating sustainable impact. Our activities are designed not only to engage participants, but also to strengthen the capacities of those who organise and lead sport-based initiatives.
By joining the sportanddev.org platform, we hope to connect with like-minded organisations, practitioners, and experts from around the world, exchange knowledge, and contribute to the wider development of sport as a tool for positive social change.
