Sports for Hope and Independence (SHI)'s Biography
Sports for Hope and Independence is a non-profit organisation founded in 2016 dedicated to exploring and expanding human awareness through sports respecting culture and religion: to inspire youth, girls, physically disabled person and children across Bangladesh to become purposeful masters of themselves and dedicated, inspired leaders of others into a fulfilled wellbeing.

The Sports for Hope and Independence (SHI) was founded in 2016 in response to the need for services to the people for active and healthy lifestyle. It focuses on sport as a tool for the child & youth development, Girls empowerment, Life skills development of the disabled person. SHI is the primary service provider and advocate for the people in the community about Sports. Sports have been identified as the culturally relevant, proven therapeutic toll that promotes health and well being for the individual as well as society. SHI believes sports are a gateway of recreation that promotes the inclusion of the people with disabilities in the community as well as able-bodied people.  SHI  introduced different sport especially Rugby, Baseball, Table tennis, Volleyball, Dodgeball, Football, swimming, traditional game, Wheelchair Rugby, para-athletics and other inclusive sports in the different communities in Bangladesh to improve confidence, Build leadership skills, Girls empowerment, Improve life skills of a community, improve self -esteem. SHI believe maximizing participation gives the opportunity to use to sport a tool to develop a community.
