Children, parents and coaches ‘live by’ safeguarding practices, policies and procedures on a daily basis.

Often policies, practices and procedures are introduced into an organisation by management in a top-down manner. While effective safeguarding measures are valuable in protecting an organisation from litigation and ensuring enduring relationships with funding partners, it is the children, parents and coaches that will have to ‘live by’ the policies on a daily basis. The involvement of these individuals from the outset is essential to the success of developing effective child protection and safeguarding measures.
