I have been working in the area of antiracism in football and sport for development for the past ten years aside my work as a lecturer at the University of Innsbruck in Austria and I am coordinating the activities of this project in Europe.

Within the background of the first FIFA World Cup on the African continent, a group of development NGOs from four European countries and six African countries have come together to design the project “Football for Development - Exploiting the potential of sport as a tool for awareness raising and generating public support with the following objectives
• Contributing towards achieving The Millennium Development Goals
• Using the popularity of football as a medium for promoting awareness, participation, support for development and motivate young people, football stakeholders and (sport) media to get involved and be proactive
The target group include among others
• young people (secondary school level) and young adults, football and sport stakeholders, sport journalists, the media, NGDOs and donor agencies
