Chris founded Football for Humanity, which is a global sport-for-development charity aimed at formulating strategic programmes to educate, empower and protect young people facing the threat of abuse, exploitation and violence. In its first year, Football for Humanity received an excellence award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) for its Corporate Social Responsibility and Communications Management programme called 'Transformations through Football’, which reached over half a million children through its outreach provisions.
Football for Humanity Key Achievements
2016 Onwards
- In the first 2 years, we built 6 community football pitches, 1 library day care centre, 7 library spaces, and 1 water filtration system.
- Distributed over 13,000 donated footballs nationwide.
- Reached approximately 500,000 children across the Philippines.
- Received an ‘Excellence’ award from the International Association of Business Communicators at the 15th Philippine Quill Awards (International Association of Business Communicators) in April 2017.
2020 Onwards
- Launched the nationwide Anti-Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children programme.
- Became a United Nations Member “Football for the Goals” campaign
