I spent one year in the Kingdom of Tonga as an AFL Development Officer with AFL Tonga on the Australian Youth Ambassador for Development program. Following this I worked as the Tonga Country Coordinator for a UK based volunteer program and completed an internship with the International Cricket Council (ICC) Development Program, – East Asia Pacific. I have extensive experience working with the AFL Asia Pacific – High Performance Program which resulted from my long standing work with AFL Tonga.

Edward McCowan's Biography
I am currently working for the Australian Sports Commission as a Sport for Development Consultant. My main role is organising the Healthy Islands through Sport forum. The forum will bring together senior officials from Ministries of Health and Ministries responsible for Sport from Pacific Island Countries, to discuss how sport can be used to combat non communicable diseases (NCDs).
